Todo final de ano a inglesa Metal Hammer, a principal revista especializada em heavy metal do planeta, publica a sua tradicional lista com os melhores do período. São levantamentos sempre interessantes, que apontam não apenas os álbuns que mais se destacaram mas também futuras tendências, a consolidação de novas bandas e o retorno de outras.

Abaixo estão todas as dez listas relativas a cada um dos anos da década de 2000 publicadas pela Metal Hammer. Vale como registro histórico de uma época, como fonte de pesquisa para descobrir discos que por ventura tenham passado batido pelos ouvidos e até mesmo para se perguntar onde foram parar alguns grupos, afinal são nada mais nada menos que 200 títulos presentes.
